title: Charging the Four Directions (四路奔打拳) — Seven Star Mantis
---

**四路奔打拳 (Sìlù Bēndǎ Quán, "Charging the Four Directions")** is one of the longest Seven Star core forms — **59 postures** in the canon of [**Wong Hon Fan (黃漢勛)**](https://wulin.openmindspace.org/wong-hon-fan), Luo Guangyu line. The name is the strategy: 四路 ("four roads / four directions") + 奔打 ("charging-and-striking") — the form drives outward along the four compass lines, wheeling and turning at each corner (旋轉, 轉身, 翻身) to charge afresh into a new direction with the branch's chopping, governing, and crushing methods.
