title: Six-Harmony Fist (六合拳) — Six-Harmony Mantis
---

**六合拳 (Liùhé Quán, "Six-Harmony Fist"** — also **六合雙錦拳**) is a **compact 20-posture set** of [**Six-Harmony Praying Mantis**](https://wulin.openmindspace.org/six-harmony-mantis) (張詳三 line), recorded in Zhang Xiangsan's *六合拳釋義*. A short, complete routine — throat-lock fist (鎖口拳), cross chop (十字劈), linked chopping (連環劈), the snapping-and-kicking answers — closing on **童子拜觀音 ("the boy worships Guanyin")**.

## What it trains

- **A compact whole** — the six-harmony method in twenty postures
- **鎖口拳 (throat-lock fist)** — the branch's seizing entry as a fist
- **連環劈 / 十字劈** — linked and cross chopping
- **童子拜觀音** — the quiet closing posture

Six-Harmony movement names are descriptive and run longer than the tight four-character Seven-Star style.

## Place in the curriculum

The 張詳三 Taiwan line teaches its empty-hand art as **six core sequences (六趟)** — 鐵齒 · 善手奔 · 鏡裡藏花 · 截手圈 · 葉底藏花 · 雙封 — alongside **六合短捶** and this **六合拳** — a short, self-contained routine recorded in Zhang Xiangsan's *六合拳釋義*. The six core sequences each share the same closing run: **進步跺腳 → 破膝 → 掛耳圈**.
